La Cinémathèque Française
What I love about France is that the French are so versatile when it comes to showing films. I know in the U.S., unless you live in a large city, most foreign films are just not accessible. Not so in France, and even more so in Paris.
If you’re a film buff, then you need to go over to the Cinémathèque Française! There is truly something for everyone; from exhibits, lectures, and debates about film and the film industry, to watching old classics, or a homage to a particular director, or actor. (From now until the 31st of July, there’s a Pedro Almodóvar Expo!) Or perhaps you prefer browsing their permanent display, or watching a special screening; in any case, you are sure to find something you’re passionate about
The cinémathèque also restores, around forty films each year and holds them for safekeeping. It has over 40,000 titles in its collection and around 800 films are added to it annually. You can visit their website for more information.
