Elton John at Le Zenith

Elton John’s Red PianoWhen Sir Elton John announced that his Red Piano European Tour 2007 had been cancelled a few months back, fans everywhere were disappointed. Apparently the tour was cancelled due to technical difficulties with video screens, sets, props, and stage designs. What is sometimes easy to accomplish when one remains in a certain place such as his regular appearances for the past two years at Ceasar’s Palace in Las Vegas, is extremely difficult to put up and dismantle when on a road tour through a number of European cities.

Elton John at Ceasar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The good news is although his September 9th concert at Versailles was cancelled, Sir Elton will be performing at the Zenith in Paris on September 11. Tickets can be purchased at most ticket outlets such as the Fnac. Prices run from a reasonable 78 € to 155 € for this one night only concert. (Nothing like the outrageous prices Barbra Streisand was demanding back in June!)

I thought it was excellent!! He played his old hits and the newer ones. Nigel and Davey were there. He sang for 2 1/2 hrs without a break, starting with Funeral For A Friend and ending with Your Song. He took a few minutes to sign autographs before the end. The captain was fantastic!!!

Pamela, thanks for the update! I didn’t go to this particular concert, but I’ve seen him in concert a number of times and he never disappoints!
