Kim Peek….Is There a French Connection?

by Lynn on July 29th, 2007

Dustin Hoffman Kim Peek Rain ManClara over at Tips of All Sorts has five great video clips about Kim Peek who is better know as “Rain Man” depicted by Dustin Hoffman in the awarding winning film by the same name.

It’s part of a fascinating documentary about the man, who some say is, “the world’s greatest savant.” Since the influence of computers and search engines in our daily lives, Peek has also become known as “a living Google”! All I can say is we sat around and watched the videos in awe.

Kim PeekI know, this is a blog about Paris, but so what. From time to time something of interest in another area merits mentioning and I think these videos are one of those times and shouldn’t be missed! For those looking for a connection to Paris, well when Rain Man came out in 1988, I went to see it at one of the cinéma theaters on the Champs-Elysées! Does that count?!

Thanks so much for the mention!
I can’t recall where I watched the movie but I remembered I cried during the show and also while watching these videos. Fran Peek’s dedication to his son is just so touching.

Kim’s father Fran is the epitome of love, dedication, and selflessness of one person to another. He, himself, is truly amazing!

Thank you for sharing those clips with us; I really have to see the documentary!
