La Foire de Paris
If you are touring Paris and have become overwhelmed with museums, statues, historically significant art and architecture, which can easily happen, I have something that is still a feast for the eyes and you can leave the guidebooks in the hotel.
La Foire de Paris (The Paris Trade Fair) is a huge gathering of all things currently available to the French regarding home improvement, leisure and well-being and cultural passions all under one roof. It seems to me an odd mix, but the good news is, everyone in the family can get their needs met. Ladies, are you looking for a new wardrobe or ways to pamper yourself…..no problem. Over 50 exhibitors are showcasing the latest trends for summer in shoes, handbags, jewelry and other items. A well-ness and fitness section offers natural skin care products as well as massage and relaxation tools to stay Zen. Guys, depending on your weekend hobby of choice, you can find ideas for home renovations, sport and camping equipment, a used car lot (yes, a used car lot–you might need an extra suitcase for that purchase) and a high tech technology section featuring LCD flat screen TV’s, computers and digital photography equipment.
My personal favorite is the cultural exhibition featuring the Lands of France and Europe. Taste wines and gourmet foods all lovingly created by individuals throughout France as well as, Greece, Hungary, Poland and Italy. Discover the “art of living” as defined by these talented European craftsmen.
