Lanvin
Lanvin is one of the oldest fashion houses still in operation today and has one of the longest lasting perfumes on the market as well. The founder Jeanne Lanvin set up shop on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in 1889 first designing hats and accessories. After the birth of her daughter Marguerite, Jeanne began making clothes for herself and Marguerite which caught the eye of many wealthy ladies wanting to dress themselves and their daughters in the same fashion; thus the Lanvin house was created.
In 1927 the perfume Arpège made its debut and has remained a constant seller for eighty years! The famous Arpège Art Deco bottle was designed by Armand-Albert Rateau with Jeanne and her daughter, Marguerite, in mind. The image was taken from a drawing made in 1907 of Jeanne and Marguerite dressed in evening gowns as they were going to a ball and has come to represent not only the perfume line, but also symbolizes the Lanvin house.

I don’t know about you, but I find it’s always great to get a gift which comes in a Lanvin box or bag, and anything that adds a little more to my Lanvin collection is all right with me!

I’m definitely with you on Lanvin and thanks to my dad who was the one who introduced or rather got me interested in certain French labels including this one (and Lancel of course). :-)

Clara your father intrigues me! Usually women are more interested in designer labels; was he in the fashion business!?
