Le Pique-Nique de la République

by Lynn on July 12th, 2007

Pique-nique!As the countdown to Bastille Day approaches, there are all sorts of activities planned. The neighborhood firemen’s dances are held every year on the 13th and 14th of July and are tons of fun. (More about them tomorrow!) This year for the second year, however, a gigantic picnic is planned on the 13th at the Parc de Bercy.

Everyone is invited to bring their own food and drinks, and to share in a convivial evening of fun, food and music starting at 18h. The idea is to get people of all ages, races, religions, and social backgrounds to share in a meal together, so to speak.

At 20h a samba demonstration takes place. For any twinkle toes out there, you can join in and learn a few basic steps from authentic Brazilian dancers. The evening winds down (or winds up, whichever way you look at it) with a rock concert.

Bring a blanket and let the party begin!
