Paris Fashion Week
Of course when you think of Paris, you think of fashion and twice a year Paris becomes a giant runway! From the 2nd to the 5th of July the Fall/Winter 2007-2008 (Haute Couture) designers will be strutting their stuff! As I write, the Men’s Spring/Summer 2008 collections are in full force from June 28th until July 1st.
Yet, what is fashion? Most of what we see is just recycled styles from another era. Very seldom does anyone come up with an entirely new idea; a new look. How much more can one do with a pair of men’s pants; add a third leg!?
As for haute couture, where would one wear that stuff? They’re beautiful, (and yes sometimes gaudy!) displays of “costumes” that 99.9% of the world’s population has no use for. Hmm, do I sound anti-fashion? It does sound it, but truly I’m not! Runway shows are full of tall, beautiful, thin, young, people, wearing glamourous clothes, what’s not to like about that kind of entertainment?
So, from the better known names of Ungaro, Rykeil, YSL, Lanvin, Kenzo, or Hermès men’s fashion is being shown throughout Paris during Fashion Week. The haute couture shows displaying their creations are much more limited with the houses of Chanel, Lacroix, Gaultier, Givenchy, and Dior. For a full list of designers and runway shows click here.
Parisians just seem to be born with a natural sense of style, but what I really love about Paris is, anything goes!

Well said, Lynn!
The minority sustains the famous fashion houses and that is probably more than sufficient. :-)

It is, but I must admit I do like watching a runway show from time to time.
