Paris Film Festivals

by Lynn on July 5th, 2007

Looking for something to do in Paris once the sun goes down, then how about a film under the stars?!

Le Festival Paris Cinéma

La Butte de MontmartreThe Paris Film Festival was suppose to begin July 3rd, but was delayed for security reasons due to weather. The festivities were scheduled for 21h30 at the Fontaines du Trocadéro opening with “Paris, Je t’aime.” Other open air seances are also scheduled, weather permitting that is, such as “Retour de Flamme” planned for Saturday July 7th at the Butte Montmartre, but only time will tell!

Charlotte Rampling dans La PiscineCharlotte Rampling is presiding over this international film festival with 17 short films and 13 long in competition. Tickets are 4 € each, or for 20 € you can purchase the Paris Cinéma Pass, which gives you access to the entire festival.

Closing ceremonies will take place on July 14th on the Champs de Mars with fireworks and a dedication to music in films. For more information you can visit the official website for all the details.

Cinéma en Plein Air

Au Parc de la VilletteAnother film festival taking place in Paris begins the 17th of July until the 26 of August at the Parc de la Villette. Just about every evening when the sun goes down, people get out their blankets, open up their picnic baskets and get comfortable as the projection starts to roll. And best of all, it’s free!
