Reviews, Reviews, Reviews at the Travel & Culture Channel!

by Lynn on August 9th, 2007

One thing for sure, you can’t say that we’re not a diverse group here at the b5media Travel & Culture Channel! We review everything from an amusement ride, a blog conference, an ergonomic product for camping (yes!, that’s what I said!) to presidential candidates, dining experiences, and a bestseller. There’s something here for everyone! So sit down and get comfortable because who doesn’t like to read a review!?

Drunk on the FoodJon over at The DC Traveler gives us his dining experience at the award winning Colvin Run Tavern; one of the top places to dine in the capital area. Jon’s description of each course by Chef Jeff Gaetjen’s culinary skills had me salivating and running for a sweater! (You have to read his post to understand!) Careful though, you can pack on the pounds just by the photos and reading his review; Drunk on the Food!

Space MountainI’m with Shirley from Southern Byways when she says she’s “not a lover of roller coasters”! Still we have to give her credit for going on Space Mountain at Walt Disney World. Be sure to check out her link to a video of the ride. How anyone can hold a video camera while riding a roller coaster ( in the dark!) is beyond me!

Nightlighter FlashlightNow even though I’m not a camper, Sherry’s Flashlight For Campers, the Nightlighter Flashlight, has got me excited! This new type of flashlight is not only revolutionary and inventive, it has a great look! The idea is so simple that you think, why didn’t I come up with that idea?! Well, I didn’t, so I guess I’ll just have to go out and buy one! Read all about it at The Geeky Traveller.

BlogHer 07Mary Jo gives a review of her first blogging conference experience at BlogHer 07, and from reading her comments, I’m sure it’s not going to be her last! The networking, comraderie, and the pina coladas make you wish that you had gone as well! (Hmm, maybe next year.) In any case, check out her post and hear all about it over at the Fly Away Café.

Democratic Race to the White HouseNo matter what politcal party you belong to, you’ll want to get the lowdown, (opps!) rundown on the Democratic candidates at Alex’s blog, Sirened. He doesn’t mince words and with so many people running, this is the place to straighten them all out in your mind and see who’s who! It’s all there in his post Reviewing the Democratic Race to the WhiteHouse.

Moody’s PubAnother dining experience, this time from The Chicago Traveler about Moody’s Pub. Matt has put a whole new spin on rating restaurants! Forget about the service! Forget about the comfort! It’s all about the food!!! Anyone planning on going to Chicago soon will want to read this review, otherwise you’ll kick yourself for missing the “Best Burger” in town!

Suite FrançaiseAs for myself, I give my take on the bestselling novel Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky. Just the survival of the manuscript itself would be an incredible tale of its own. The author’s daughter Denise kept it with her throughout the turbulant times of WWII, keeping one step ahead of meeting the same fate as her parents. (Both died in the concentration camps in Auschwitz.) Unbeknownst to her, (thinking it was her mother’s journal), more than sixty years would pass before her mother’s novel would see the light of day. You can read more at The Paris Traveler.

Didn’t I tell you you’d find something that would pique your interest?!
