I think I should be writing this post in February just in time for Valentine’s Day instead of in the middle of summer, but then again, what better time to parade around in beautiful lingerie bought at Sabbia Rosa than when the weather is warm.
What makes this lingerie shop different from so many others? As everyone knows, Paris is the center of the gastronomic world, but not just for its wonderful restaurants, top culinary schools, or open air markets, but also for some of the best food emporiums you can find. Someone asked me yesterday where they could find a place in Paris that had everything close by. I responded, “Do you mean like a mall?!” What they were looking for was a place where you could shop, eat, visit a museum, and sit outside without walking all over Paris to do it.

I found some great bargains at the shops in Bercy Village. This is a walking area full of boutiques, restaurants, pubs and a multi-plex movie theater not far from the Palais Omnisport and across from the Parc de Bercy. At one time this was the largest wine market in the world and the destination for wine coming in from the south of France.

Okay, so I have a sweet tooth, I’ll admit it, and Ladurée has been satisfying the sweet tooth of Parisians since 1862 and has some of the best pastries around.  They’re not only known for their tartes aux citrons, which happens to be my favorite, they’re also known for their macaroons, religieuses, millefeuilles, and other decadent desserts.
