The Prêt-à-Porter (Ready To Wear) Spring/Summer 2008 collection will soon be hitting the runways here in Paris between September 29 to October 7. I’ve had several friends of mine who have taken to the catwalk through the years, showing off the latest designs and fashions and it’s always been an interesting time filled with excitement! For me, that is! (I especially love the ones at the Carrousel du Louvre.) For them, however, it’s a crazy hectic time that is, more often than not, nervewracking!

Okay, so I was starting a post all about Fashion Week coming up at the end of the month here in Paris, (which I’ll talk more about in a day or so) when it got me thinking about Sarah Jessica Parker. Why? Because she happens to be a favorite of mine, and has the kind of body that no matter what you put on her, she always looks fabulous! (I hate her! ….Okay, okay! I’m kidding! I recently sent one of my poems (not this one) to be included in the Jack Kerouac exhibit that will be taking place on the 23rd of September in Paris at the Cabaret Pirate in front of the BNF (Bibliothèque Nationale de France), which got me to thinking….  How could I have not seen that my poem, This Is Paris To Me, fits in perfectly with my blog!

Many know Vanessa as a fine actrice, others as the former representative of Chanel’s fragrance Coco, and still others as Mrs. Johnny Depp, although they’re not married.  Rumour has it that after being together since 1998, they will be tying the knot soon.
Vanessa, however, to many, including myself, is still the young girl who came onto the music scene singing Joe le Taxi. The Travel Channel at b5media has another theme day. Our mission:  write your best article on, or about, the best of something.  Well when you’re talking about Paris, trying to pick the best of anything is like asking a parent, “Which child do you love best?”
Impossible to answer, right?! As any well-adjusted parent will tell you, they “love all their children equally.” If push comes to shove, they might say one is better at sports, while another is better at music, but all in all, their children (in their eyes) are the greatest!  Who’s to argue?!

Of course when you think of Paris, you think of fashion and twice a year Paris becomes a giant runway! From the 2nd to the 5th of July the Fall/Winter 2007-2008 (Haute Couture) designers will be strutting their stuff! As I write, the Men’s Spring/Summer 2008 collections are in full force from June 28th until July 1st.
Yet, what is fashion? Most of what we see is just recycled styles from another era. Very seldom does anyone come up with an entirely new idea; a new look. How much more can one do with a pair of men’s pants; add a …read more

The French have a great expression for window shopping, it’s called “le leche vitrine” which literally means, “to lick the window”. Well that’s exactly what I did when I use to go to work everyday for a group of international lawyers who have their offices on this avenue right off the Champs-Elysées. My philosophy was and still is, if your going to lick windows, then why not pick some of the best and most expensive windows to lick?!
