The Paris Traveler

My family decided that I needed to be brought up to speed as far as gadgets go and gave me this cute little unit for Christmas.
 
 It was meant to replace the outdated dinosaur I have been using that no longer is recognized by current technology.  Today, I (we, being my daughters and I) decided it was ipod update day and we spent the better part of the afternoon making the big switch. I recently sent one of my poems (not this one) to be included in the Jack Kerouac exhibit that will be taking place on the 23rd of September in Paris at the Cabaret Pirate in front of the BNF (Bibliothèque Nationale de France), which got me to thinking….  How could I have not seen that my poem, This Is Paris To Me, fits in perfectly with my blog!

When Sir Elton John announced that his Red Piano European Tour 2007 had been cancelled a few months back, fans everywhere were disappointed. Apparently the tour was cancelled due to technical difficulties with video screens, sets, props, and stage designs. What is sometimes easy to accomplish when one remains in a certain place such as his regular appearances for the past two years at Ceasar’s Palace in Las Vegas, is extremely difficult to put up and dismantle when on a road tour through a number of European cities.

I really have to hand it to Salma Hayek, she could very easily have decided to spend her time shopping in all the luxury stores in Paris, or just lounging around eating bonbons and sipping expensive champagne! Afterall, the father of her baby (due any day now) and also her fiancé, is none other than French business mogul François-Henri Pinault! Pinault heads a conglomerate of successful businesses including the famous Printemps department store, La Redoute (think Sears catalog), the FNAC, several French newspapers, Christie’s, plus Gucci and Yves Saint-Laurent….shall I go on?!

The Travel Channel at b5media has another theme day. Our mission:  write your best article on, or about, the best of something.  Well when you’re talking about Paris, trying to pick the best of anything is like asking a parent, “Which child do you love best?”

Okay, so you can’t decide if you want to go to the beach or to Paris for your summer holidays, then think again! Paris has its own beach and this year it’s getting even bigger!
It use to be when you thought of Paris Plage, you thought of Le Touquet! Not anymore! For the past five years Paris has its own beach right on the Seine.
