]]> La Fête à Neu Neu 2007The Fête à Neu Neu going on in the Bois de Boulogne is one of the oldest fairs in Paris that was started in 1815 by Napoléon I.  If you love rides and attractions, then this is the place to be.  If you’re a jazz lover, then this is the place to be.  If you don’t want to watch the rugby matches with tens of thousands of people at the Hôtel de Ville, then once again, this is the place to be!  There are five restaurants taking part; one will have a giant screen showing the rugby matches just in case there are some die hard sports fans.

                       The festival takes place from the beginning of September until the 21st of October with different themes running throughout the festivities.  For instance, the weekend of the 6th-7th of October will be “Gypsy Night” which will also be part of the Nuit Blanche in Paris, meaning that you stay up the whole night.  (I’ll talk more about the Nuit Blanche Paris 2007 in a later post.)  In any case, Gypsy Night begins at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning.  There’ll be plenty of activities plus singing and of course gypsy music; violins, guitars, etc…..I wonder if the Gipsy Kings will make an appearance?!  (I know, wishful thinking!) 

Rides at the fair.The festival is open daily (except Thursdays) from noon to midnight.  Entrance is free for everyone, and there are free shuttles to take you to the site from M° Porte d’Auteuil between 2-10 p.m..  Have fun!
