Paris has its own beach and this year it’s getting even bigger!

It use to be when you thought of Paris Plage, you thought of Le Touquet! Not anymore! For the past five years Paris has its own beach right on the Seine. With palm trees and sandy beaches, you’ll think you’re in Tahiti. Hmm, okay maybe not, since the one little thing missing is the ocean! “Little thing!” you say?…. Well use a bit of imagination! (Work with me here, please!) After all, you get the best of both worlds, Paris and the beach!

From the Tuileries to Pont Sully, this year Paris Plage will expand even further to the 13e near the new passerelle Simone de Beauvoir, and there’s now a new floating swimming pool not far from the BNF. From the 20th of July to the 20th of August, Paris Plage will have activities for everyone. From the sports minded, to young children, to sun worshipers, or music lovers; sit under the palm trees, and listen to a concert every Friday and Saturday evening starting at 19h30 sponsered by the Fnac.

Paris Plage has become so popular that it has spread to other European cities. It’s a great time for all, even gawkers! Beware however, no strings, topless, or nudist unless you want a 38 € fine!

Post from: The Paris Traveler
