This ‘Fair Weather Fan’ Will Now Return To Shopping!

As I wrote in my first post about the Coupe du Monde de Rugby, I was not interested in watching the games and said I would rather do some serious shopping instead! Well, can I help it if rugby fever just took over Paris big-time and swept me up along with it?!
After yesterday’s match with England, however, the doctor’s prognosis is in: the fever has gone down and I’m back to normal once again! So,…shopping here I come!
Oh yeah, I think Jed over at The London Traveler has the same symptoms and has caught the bug, but like I told …read more

Rendez-vous With Les Bleus, the Brits and Pavarotti?!

Rendez-vous With Les Bleus, the Brits and Pavarotti?!

I never thought that I would be writing more than one post about rugby on my blog, but can I help it if Paris fans continue to grow as Les Bleus continue to win! I mean when even the statues in Paris begin to wear rugby T-shirts or you see T-shirts suspended in the middle of the street, you know that rugby fever has run amok!
I know I said back at the beginning of September when I first wrote about the Coupe du Monde de Rugby that I personally would rather go shopping than watch the rugby matches, I was …read more

The Haka Kapa O Pango – A No Go!

The Haka Kapa O Pango – A No Go!

Rugby Fever catches on as the XV de France advances by beating the much favored New Zealand All Blacks in a major upset, 20-18! No one would have given France a chance, in you know where, to end up victorious, especially when the All Blacks were leading by 13-0 in the first half; but les Bleus (the Blues) have come through and they now go on to face England next week who eliminated Australia in their match!

I guess the Haka just didn’t worka!

France vs New Zealand

France vs New Zealand

If you’ve been following the rugby matches then you know that this week-end (Oct. 6) France will be in the quarter finals of the Coupe du Monde de Rugby against the New Zealand All Blacks. Talk about psyching out the opponent, the All Blacks have a monopoly on this market with the Haka Kapa O Pango! (The Haka for short!) France, however does have a remedy by the name of Sébastien Chabal!
If you don’t know what I’m talking about then shame on you! You haven’t been watching the rugby matches, have you?! In any case, this does promise to be quite a …read more

La Fête à Neu Neu

La Fête à Neu Neu

The Fête à Neu Neu going on in the Bois de Boulogne is one of the oldest fairs in Paris that was started in 1815 by Napoléon I.  If you love rides and attractions, then this is the place to be.  If you’re a jazz lover, then this is the place to be.  If you don’t want to watch the rugby matches with tens of thousands of people at the Hôtel de Ville, then once again, this is the place to be!  There are five restaurants taking part; one will have a giant screen showing the rugby matches just in case there are …read more

Coupe du Monde de Rugby

Coupe du Monde de Rugby

I recently mention in my theme day blog that I was a fair weather fan of football and American football, stating that if France was playing in the World Cup, or the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Superbowl, then I became interested like everyone else. So! You can imagine how interested I am in rugby!
The World Cup of Rugby being played here in Paris from the 7th of September until the 20th of October is a little hard to avoid. The only thing I know about rugby is it’s considered a tougher sport than the other two because anything goes! …read more
