I’ve always loved Paris in the Winter when the days are mostly grey and night falls quickly. I stumbled upon this photo by Rita Crane and not only did her photograph capture me, but also her words both in French and in English. Tired of doing the touristy things in Paris? Tired of sitting on the hard chairs at the Luxembourg and Tuileries Gardens and not be able to walk or sit on the grass? Or are you just plain tired of the hustle and bustle now that you’ve been in the City of Lights for awhile?

This year’s Treasure Hunt in Paris takes place on July 7th! A lot of things seem to be taking place on the 7th this year, which I find isn’t quite fair! (Okay, so it pisses me off!) I never noticed how helpful and friendly Paris and Parisians are to the physically diabled. I guess it’s just something you don’t notice until you, or someone you’re with, is in need of special attention. That was the case when my mom decided to see Paris for the second time in her life.
For some reason, neither my mom nor I can understand why she only came once to visit me in all the years I’ve lived in Paris. I suppose after the death of my dad, she spent her time raising my younger brothers and sister. In any case, the …read more

Most people don’t think of going to a cemetary to take an afternoon stroll, but Père Lachaise is no ordinary burial ground. As a matter of fact, it is the most visited cemetary in the world. There are over 300,000 people buried on these 118 acres of land that make up the largest cemetary in the city of Paris which is located in the 20th arrondissement.
